TurkeyHappy November!

November is here, meaning the holidays are upon us!

I am sure when we think of November, all our minds go straight to turkey and stuffing. Often, trying to avoid the stress the holidays might bring us more stress. In our busy worlds, our minds and bodies can get wrapped up in the
hustle and bustle; making it hard for our minds to slow down. This November we will be focusing on gratitude in our counseling class. Reminding ourselves
what we are thankful for daily, will help us remember the positives and amazing things we do have. This is an important skill for all ages to practice. We often catch ourselves thinking of only the bad things that are happening around us, but we have the power to control that and change it to something positive! A skill that I like to really encourage the students o do, is start their day or end their day with a gratitude list. This list can consist of 3 things that they were grateful for that day. This helps us see the world in a more positive light; appreciating what we do have. I think that could definitely benefit us all!

As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. I hope you all have an amazing November and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Best,
Mrs. Traci Ordoñez
