Sundance Elementary

We are pleased to announce that Sundance has enrolled with STOPit, by STOPit Solutions. STOPit is an online reporting tool designed to deter and mitigate bullying, cyber abuse, and other inappropriate behaviors, consisting of an app and a backend incident management system for school administrators.

Our students will have access to the STOPit mobile app, which has two simple but powerful features.

Specifically, the program educates students to:
‣ Recognize the signs of at-risk behaviors
‣ Take every sign and signal seriously
‣ Report it anonymously through the STOPit App, Web, or 24/7 Incident Response Center
‣ Submit photo or video evidence
‣ Alert designated administrators to issues and risks early, before they escalate

Please note that we will be launching STOPit on Monday, October 2nd. At that time, your child will be invited to download the STOPit app from the app store on his or her iPad or smart phone at no charge.

We encourage you to download the STOPit app and search for your student’s school using the directory. You can privately ask for help for your student, family, others you care about, or even acquaintances who appear to need help. Here is the Student Training Video on how to use STOPit.

The crosswalk from the Huning Ranch neighborhood to Sundance is a busy place during arrival and dismissal times.

BE RESPECTFUL
• Listen and follow the instructions given by our School Crossing Guard Rudy or anyone else who may be assisting with traffic.

BE RESPONSIBLE
• Be aware of your surroundings as you cross the crosswalk. Walk your bike or scooter in the crosswalk and don’t talk or text on your cell phone while crossing the street.

BE SAFE
• Don’t play games of tag or throw footballs, baseballs, etc. while walking to and from school.

We would like to welcome a new School Resource Officer to Sundance, SRO Kevin Harvey. Officer Kevin will work part time at Sundance while Officer Pat takes on more responsibilities for the safety and security of all west side Los Lunas Schools.
