What's Happening

Principal's Message

October will be one of the busiest months of the school year as we wrap up the first quarter of learning. We have two days when students will not be in school:

October 9th- Indigenous People’s Day and October 25th- All Learner Day.

Families will have several opportunities to visit Sundance this month. You are invited to a Renaissance Family Fun Run on Friday, October 6th; Math & Science Night & Book Fair on Tuesday, October 17th; Trunk-or-Treat on October 27th; and we would also like to invite you to our first Renaissance Assembly on our outdoor stage on Tuesday, October 31st at 9:30
AM (weather permitting). Students may wear their costumes to school in celebration of Halloween on the 31st. The costume should be appropriate for school and follow our dress code guidelines (no violent, bloody, or gory costumes please). If the costume incudes a mask, the mask must be removed as students enter the building so we know who is on campus. Thank you for your support with this important safety precaution.

The Fall is a great time to be a Sundance Tiger as we roar forward with accelerated learning! Here are the school-wide goals we are working toward in the first semester:

ELA: Teachers in grades K-2 will implement explicit daily phonics routines. Teachers in
grades 3-6 will collaborate, align, and use best practices to teach writing.

Math: Teachers in grades K-6, school wide, will implement consistent routines to regularly practice solving rigorous, multistep word problems utilizing the CUBES strategy.

Sincerely,
Venessa Tregembo
