Renaissance

This year we are updating Renaissance to incorporate the pillars of character counts. The character counts pillars are: Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Citizenship, Fairness, and Trustworthiness.

For the month of October, we will focus and learn about Responsibility. Responsibility is being held accountable for your actions. Responsibility is also the ability to act independently and make your own decisions. This includes making the appropriate decisions through your actions. We want to teach students things like: being independent in tasks throughout the day; making students responsible for their own belongings; and making the right decision through actions to avoid negative consequences. Each teacher will have resources and lessons to follow with our character counts pillars each month. We will also reward students who are showing Responsibility. Students can earn one stamp a day on their responsibility card. Ten stamps fill up a card and they will receive a small prize. If they can get another ten stamps on their second card for the month, they will then receive an even bigger prize. Please encourage and talk to your children about what it means to be responsible and what that looks like so they can earn a prize and learn how to show responsibility at school and at home.

This month students will also take part in an attendance challenge. If your child does not miss any days of school in the whole month of October, they will have an opportunity to win a prize through
our attendance challenge tickets!
